Finding Life

My child never forget the things I have taught you. Store my commands in your heart. For they will give you a long and satisfying life.

Proverbs 3:1-2 (NLT)

For the past couple of weeks, I have been thinking of writing cards to our Compassion kids—children dealing with the aftermath of losing their parents to HIV, young ones living in poverty, tender, needy youth in faraway places—Divine in India, Ruth in Haiti, Sara in Ecuador, Uwamahoro in Rwanda and Yeshi in Ethiopia.

I had the thought of sending them beautiful cards to brighten their days ... with a Scripture verse inside to add the touching truth of God’s word. This morning I think I will pen this verse to one of those cards, but I am considering something else as well. I reread Proverbs 3, and I am reminded of how good God is. How true and faithful He is to His word! And oh, how He has blessed me.

These words are my words.

These words are words I can share … from my heart to theirs….

Father, thank You for Your words of encouragement. Thank You for leading me. Now ... please ... lead Divine, Ruth, Sara, Uwamahoro and Yeshi in Your way. May they each enjoy a long and satisfying life in Christ. Amen.
