Teamwork

Listen to my voice; I will give you counsel and God will be with you…. Select from all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness and place such over them to be rulers … If you do this thing, and God so commands you then you will be able to endure, and all this people will also go to their place in peace … and Moses chose able men….

Exodus 18:19, 21, 23, 25 (NKJV)

… every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.

Ephesians 4:16b (NKJV)

It was time to pull the team together. Jethro had his vision, and he shared it with Moses: “You can’t do this alone!” No one can. It takes a team. Like the Children of Israel, the Church is a giant team--a Body in fact.

What the Body can use now is more teamwork--with Christ as the head. It’s what our church needs; but, more specifically, it’s what our Men’s Ministry needs.

We‘ve seen the success of teams banding together--whether it was to pray for a new youth pastor, run a family camp or our children‘s programs, or build a Small Group ministry. Teams pulling together, praying together and working together get results.

They get results because they share the load, because they focus on strengths, because they follow God’s design.

And God’s design for work is team work!

Lord, build Your team; allow us to work together for You; help us catch this vision: together we can! Amen.
