Finding True Prosperity

People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful devices.

This book shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

Joshua 1:8 (NKJV)


For the past few days the Lord has been hitting me hard with thoughts of priority, using my resources wisely and … MONEY! And He’s done this for good reason, I think. Wealth and money, you see, tempt me. They easily fill my mind and occupy my time and lead me down that path to “foolish and harmful devices.” But God has a better way. He shared it with Joshua, and it’s ours for the taking!

His path is the way of true prosperity and true success. This way of life involves clinging to our Lord’s words and obeying them. Simply put, this is how He knows we love Him. Jesus said, “because they love me, my Father will love them, and I will love them … and we will come to them and live with them” (John 14:21, 23). Experiencing the fond love of the God of the Universe—what could possibly compare? Is there greater success than this?


Lord, teach me Your way. Amen.
